    Air Compressors

Air compressors are a great power source for hand held tools on a construction site such as nail guns, wrenches and spray guns. Portable Air compressors are very useful for workers travelling to multiple worksites as they are often small enough to easily lift onto a tray. Some Air Compressors have removable petrol tanks which makes the device even lighter. To determine the type of Compressor you require, contact one of our experts at Direct Trades Supply who can discuss with you the options for Electric, Multi-Stage, Oil-Free and Natural Gas Air Compressors.

    Brick Saws

Brick Saws are essential on a worksite where you need to cut bricks, stone, or tiles. There are two types of brick saws, a dry saw and a wet saw. A wet saw uses water to catch dust as it is made and stop it from becoming a hazard in the workplace. A dry saw has an integrated dust collection system, to trap the dust before it has a chance to enter the air. Discuss with our experts in store for the best type of saw for your project.

    Cement Mixers

Cement Mixers are, as they suggest, used for mixing cement. A Mixer is constructed of a rotating barrel that constantly turns to mix together cement, aggregate, and water which makes concrete. Mixers can also be used for combining animal feed, fertilisers or potting soils and are conveniently constructed with wheels for easy maneuvering. Mixers will be a great investment for your business and eliminate the need to purchase ready-made cement for small jobs.

    Floor Saws

Floor Saws are heavy duty tools used for cutting concrete and asphalt. Floor Saws are commonly used on roads and motorways. They give a precise and efficient cut which makes repairs and alterations to the roads easier. Floor Saws are controlled by a Control Panel, which powers the direction of the blade, the depth of the cut and the speed. Most Floor Saws come with a water pump to which diffuses dust as it is produced, and are installed with lights for use at night.

    Generators

Generators are a very useful piece of equipment for a powerless construction site. Generators don’t create electricity but convert chemical energy into electrical energy. Generators are most commonly used to power hand held tools or lighting systems, and large generators can be used to power temporary site offices. There are different types of generators that range in size, watts, and purpose. If you are unsure what generator will be right for your project, enquire through our website and we will be in touch to discuss your options.

    Pressure Washers

Pressure Washers work off either electrical power or gas engines, and essentially blast away dirt with high-pressured water jets. Pressure Washers consist of a hose connected to an air compressor which powers a water pump. When the trigger is pulled on a Pressure Washer, the water mixes with the high-pressure air and sprays the water at about 75 times the strength of a domestic garden hose. These tools are great to use for cleaning large surfaces such as driveways, decking, concrete surfaces, and patios when cleaning by hand would be too laborious.

    Trenching Machines

Trenching Machines are large pieces of equipment that are used to dig trenches, typically to lay pipes or cabling. There are two types of trenching machines, a Walk-Behind Trencher and a Ride-On Trencher. Using a trencher instead of manual digging will complete your project much quicker, with less physical toll on your body. If you are using a Walk-Behind Trenching Machine, you will need to walk backwards from your starting point. This will ensure you don’t get hit by any debris that is being dug up, and alleviates the risk of stepping into the trench.

    Trowelling Machines

Trowelling Machines are used to apply a smooth finish to concrete slabs. Trowelling Machines will remove excess water from cement while levelling the surface, and providing a shine. There are two types of trowelling machines, walk-behind and ride-on. Walk-behind Power Trowels is ideal for trowelling areas less than 90 metres squared whereas Ride-On Trowels are recommended for large areas as they have a larger blade. The process of trowelling can only be done after the cement has been left to dry for a few hours, but is not completely set. A Walk-Behind Trowel is usually petrol powered, and is easily maneuvered using push-pull motions.
